School Choice & Improvement Programs

The School Choice & Improvement Programs (SCIP) grant funds projects to improve education opportunities for students attending high-poverty schools. Grant funding aims to support the planning, implementation, and operation of schools that improve the coordination, integration, accessibility, and effectiveness of services for children and families, particularly for children attending high-poverty schools, including high-poverty rural schools.

Research to Improve Native American Health

The Intervention Research to Improve Native American Health grant creates opportunities to fund research on interventions that improve health in Native American populations. This grant funds intervention research, where there is a significant gap in knowledge, that will directly inform intervention development or adaptations, 2) research that develops, adapts, or tests the efficacy or effectiveness of health promotion and disease prevention interventions

Growth Opportunities

The Growth Opportunities grant funds opportunities increasing employment opportunities for justice-involved youth and young adults living in neighborhoods with high crime. The grant funds programs helping youth and young adults to increase their conflict resolution skills and develop strategies to prevent and avoid violence; introduce and prepare youth for the world of work; help youth identify career interests, attain relevant skills and gain work experience; and provide income to youth, to start them on the path of earning living wages and obtaining high quality jobs and careers.

YouthBuild

The grant funds organizations to provide a pre-apprenticeship program model that encompasses education, occupational skills training, leadership development, and high-quality post-program placement opportunities to opportunity youth. YouthBuild is a community-based alternative education program for youth between the ages of 16 and 24 who left high school prior to graduation and who also have other risk factors, including being an adjudicated youth, a youth aging out of foster care, a youth with disabilities, a migrant farmworker youth, a youth experiencing housing instability, and other disadvantaged youth populations.
