Measures and Methods to Advance Research on Minority Health and Health Disparities-Related Constructs

This grant funds research addressing how public health is impacted by crime and lack of non-carceral investments in safety. The grant aims to fund studies that measure the complex interplay of cultural, social, and environmental factors that shape an individual’s or population’s lived experience and their impact on health behaviors and outcomes

RAISE Grant Program​

RAISE discretionary grants help project sponsors at the State and local levels, including municipalities, Tribal governments, counties, and others complete critical freight and passenger transportation infrastructure projects. The eligibility requirements of RAISE allow project sponsors to obtain funding for projects that are harder to support through other U.S. DOT grant programs.

HBCU Centers of Excellence

The Centers of Excellence grant funds innovative resource and education centers to recruit, train, and retain under-represented minority (URM) students and faculty at health professions schools. Programs improve information resources, clinical education, curricula, and cultural competence as they relate to minority health issues and social determinants of health.

Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health

The Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health State Capacity Program aims to improve health equity for Black women in maternity care. This grant is designed to improve the quality and safety of maternity care in birthing facilities by funding states and jurisdictions to implement patient safety bundles, which are a set of evidence-based practices, that when implemented collectively and reliably in the delivery setting, have improved patient outcomes and reduced maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity.

Delta States Healthcare Development

The Delta States Rural Development Network Program grant funds increasing healthcare services tailored to unmet local healthcare needs. This grant aims to support and encourage the development of integrated health care networks to address unmet local health care needs and prevalent health disparities in rural Delta communities. The purpose of the Delta Program is to support organizations located in the eight Delta States to promote the planning, implementation, and development of health care networks.

Community Health Worker Training Program

This program provides grants to support projects that will increase the number of Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Health Support Workers and equip them with the skill sets needed to provide effective community outreach build trust with communities, support connections to and retention in care and support services, and other strategies to increase access to care and to assist individuals in prevention services, and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health emergencies in underserved communities.
